First Debate....Who Won?

Well one thing is for sure, the debate was much better than any we saw in 2000 or 2004, why? Because Bush was not present. Thank you Jesus for two intelligent senators. But who won the debate? This is a classic replica of the JFK-Nixon debate, where many people believed JFK won if they watched it on tv, but if listened to on the radio Nixon came out as the clear winner.

Well my guess is the majority of people who listened to the debate were also watching it on their televisions last night instead of on the radio. Anyone who watched it would have noticed the POW candidate failed to even take a glimpse at Obama. While the senator from Illinois was addressing McCain, the Arizona war hero failed to even acknowledge Barack was at the debate. Does this really manner when it comes to who would be the most effective president? No, but it does play a role in how Americans view the candidates, which could play an important role for swing voters.

We will have to see if history will repeat itself this election season. Who won between JKF and Nixon? Hmmmmmmmmm

OK, is it true that Clinton should puss out of the race at this point? Those who are encouraging her to do so are morons. I don't know if she stands a good chance of actually winning the Democratic nomination, however, Clinton has been in the race all of this time and it makes no sense to simply quit when she still has a chance of winning. The dumb excuse that she is dividing the party is nothing more than crap. Old Johnny Boy is not going to get ahead of the game because the Democrats are undecided. The primary will be over soon and there is plenty of time for the Democratic winner to get on board. Actually, the Democratic winner might have the edge considering the two Dem candidates are in for a fight of their lives to win the Democratic ticket. Johnny won the fat ass elephant nomination with little trouble.

May God bless our country with either of the donkey loving Democrats! The good thing is whoever is elected president will be a former Senator. Can you remember the last time this happened.

Typically, when someone famous endorses a candidate it usually doesn't make a difference. However, will Oprah's endorsement of Obama make a difference since she is such a popular figure to middle class American? My guess is no. Good TV doesn't make a celebrity more intellectual about political candidates. In my opinion Oprah isn't good tv either. If you want real entertainment watch C-Span or football.

First of all, I love the headline: "Clinton Slips as Richardson Gains Momentum."
But what it shows is even more important. It says that Bill Richardson has "made the most headway" of any of the Democratic candidates and has doubled his support in New Hampshire since the summer. He is now statistically even with John Edwards and closing in on Senator Obama.
It also featured a nice quote from the Governor:
"I have campaigned everywhere, shook so many hands and visited so many New Hampshire towns," Richardson said. "I love doing it, but when you see the fruits of your labor producing momentum, that's where I want to be."
Richardson said he thinks voters are making the connection that he's qualified to bring change to the country.
"What's happening in New Hampshire is they are seeing me as a candidate who has serious experience -- as a governor, as a diplomat and as a secretary of energy," Richardson said. "That I've been able to bring change."
But perhaps the most important number in the poll is how many New Hampshire voters still don't know who they're going to vote for in the primary: a whopping 47%!
That's a huge number. And it supports the point we've been talking about for months. No matter what the pundits say, this race is still wide open.
I'm sure you're thinking more about tomorrow than next January right now. But as somebody who has played a big role in creating this momentum, I thought you'd like to know about it before you started your holiday.
I'm heading back to New Mexico tonight to be with my family but let me wish you a Happy Thanksgiving from everyone in the campaign!

I love Thanksgiving.
I truly do. Every last thing about it is wonderful. I love getting together with family and friends. I love the meal. I love the football. I love the four-day weekend without having anything that particularly has to get done.
And of course, I love the fundamental idea behind it -- giving thanks for all the good people and good things in your life. This year, when Barbara and I sit down for Thanksgiving dinner, you and everyone else who has backed me for President will be tops on my list of things I'm thankful for.

Well Homeland Security is looking like it is still producing great results with FEMA. In case anyone has forgotten FEMA did not handle the Katrina disaster in 2005 very well. "Brownieeeeeeeeeeee you're doing a heck of a job" was not the case. Now in light of the various wildfires in CA, FEMA decided to creat an Ad hoc press conference which was missing one important element, the press. A notice from FEMA was given out 15 mins. prior to the press conference. Needless to say, the press was unable to make it with such short notice. So FEMA had some of it employees act as the press and ask what I would consider soft questions, like are you happy with how FEMA is handling the situation. Glad to see the Federal Gov't can embarrass themselves yet again. Go Bush Go!

Great story on CNN.com. Apparently someone has been going into the Fond du Lac City County Government Center and swiping toilet paper since June. Can you really blame a guy? Sure the butt wipers is dare a say "crappy" but free is free. When I was in College and moved into my first apartment I would go back to the dorm in which I used to live in and take several roles every month. I didn't have to pay for toilet paper for almost a year. It was the one last thing in my life that I could enjoy and not have to pay. Go paper thief go!

Scooter libby was sentenced to 30 months in jail! What a wonderful day for justice. That's what you get for lying to FBI investigators. If Libby's appeal falls through he will most likely have to serve only two years in the slammer (80 percent of sentence as required by federal government).

I think it is a fair decision considering the circumstances of the entire case. Cheney and Bush are not happy with today's verdict, however;they have no problem allowing Libby to act as the sacrificial lamb. My guess is Bush will eventually pardon Libby before the end of his presidency. Either way, at least our judicial system isn't complete crap (however it isn't great either considering the Supreme Court allowed Bush to win the 2000 election).

Obama Mentions Health Care

Obama is the second democratic presidential candidate that proposed a universal health care plan. Yet, it is not really a universal plan it is simply a proposal to lower the cost of health insurance to those who cannot afford it.

I think I would have to favor John Edwards health care plan more so than Obama's plan simply because Edward says it should be a requirement for everyone to have health insurance. This is comparable to auto insurance, no insurance no driving (well that is how it is supposed to work anyways).

I am glad to see more candidates are taking up the issue of health care. Major reform is needed and since the republicans are sitting with their thumbs up their butts it has become the responsibility of the democratic party. I hope every candidate proposes a plan for a better health care system. one million Americans without health insurance is too much let alone over 40 million.

Did anyone watch the Republican debate? Well other than being boring and saturated with idiotic questions (no thanks to the moderators)it wasn't that bad of a show. The one concept that kept reappearing in the debate was Ronald Reagan. Republicans want to distance themselves so far from the current administration due to the lack of popularity Bush and Cheney have with America that the only character Republicans can refer to is Reagan. I just want Republicans to know one thing, Reagan hasn't been president since the 1980s. The world has changed in the last 18 years. Also, Reagan was not that great of a president. Yes, the man was very charismatic and could charm the pants off any political enthusiast but we must remember he was an actor. The man was paid to be charming. Granted, the man was passionate and truly believed in what he told the public (if he could remember what he said), but he did not accomplish anything as president other than demanding the Berlin Wall be torn down. Why associate the 2008 elections with Reagan? Do we need higher deficit spending? If that's the case we might as well associate the Republicans with Bush since he has managed to keep up Reagan's deficit spending tradition.

Hot Damn! The House and the Senate voted on the war spending bill, which narrowly passed through the legislature. Bush complains that the Democrats are unwilling to fund the troops with this bill. I don't see how $122 billion is not funding our brave men and women in Iraq. Bush will likely veto the bill because of the troop withdrawal concept.

"We stand united in saying loud and clear that when we've got a troop in harm's way, we expect that troop to be fully funded," Bush bellowed, "and we got commanders making tough decisions on the ground, we expect there to be no strings on our commanders." Did Bush forget about checks and balances? No strings attached would be a political nightmare and cause a government shutdown. I think the bill which was passed would however meet the needs of the commanders by fully funding the war efforts.

Bushy stated, "We expect the Congress to be wise about how they spend the people's money." Considering Bush asked for the money, why is approving $122 billion unwise?
Bush is basically pissed that his party lost the midterm election, doesn't have complete reign over the federal government anymore, and can't do as he pleases like before. This is because America has spoken, we are sick of lies and worthless foreign policy lead by the Bush Administration. Bush doesn't have a 28 percent approval rating because he is doing a fantastic job. I can understand the Republicans idea that having a set deadline to leave the sandbox is idiotic because it gives the terrorists an advantage. However, I don't think this is the point the Democrats are trying to make. The main objective is letting Bush know there is no reason to believe that we can take control of Iraq, it is an endless war, which America started (America being Bush and his worthless cronies). The House of Reps narrowly passed a spending bill to fund the Iraq war. The most significant aspect of the bill was a deadline to bring the soldiers home. August 31, 2008 is the set deadline to have our heroes in uniform return home. The bill passed 218-212. Although the similar bill in the Senate is unlikely to pass and surely Bushy will veto it if passed through both the House and the Senate, a significant point has been made. The point being we have options! Considering Bush's approval rating is at 28 percent, I hope the elected officials who are proxies for America will realize that we are not happy with the current administration's lies, promises, and utter bullshit that comes out of their mouths. I doubt our troops will be home by August 31, 2008 but at least the statement is out there that we are ready for the war to be over.

That being said, I need to bring up the point that it is America's fault for the war, or at least those sitting in the White House who put us there. When I hear people say, "Let Iraq fight their own war," it is very upsetting. Iraq is now in a civil not because of their choosing but for the simple fact we ran over to the Middle East and took out Saddam. Granted Saddam was a piece of shit, but at least he kept terrorist groups from infiltrating the country. If Saddam could do this why can't the U.S.? Maybe because we are trying to propose democratic means which are quite effective for our country but not for others.

Valerie Plame spoke to Congress today about the leaking of her name by the White House. Plame accuses the White House of leaking her identity as a CIA operative. Earlier this month Libby was found guilty for his involvement with this case. When asked how Plame felt about the whole ordeal she responded, "I felt like I had been hit in the gut."

Not a big surprise to see I. Lewis Scooter Libby was found guilty on 4 out of 5 charges today by a jury. The best part of the outcome was a statement from one of the jurors. "We're not saying we didn't think Mr. Libby was guilty of the things we found him guilty of, but it seemed like ... he was the fall guy," said juror Denis Collins. I am glad to see that jurors who saw all of the evidence believes that the Bush Administration maybe a bunch of crooked idiots who are throwing our country into a downward spiral.

Cheney issued a statement indicating he was quite upset with the verdict. He is probably more worried that he will be the next one on the list to be convicted of the CIA leak.

"I am saddened for Scooter and his family," Cheney said. "As I have said before, Scooter has served our nation tirelessly and with great distinction through many years of public service."
