Britney Spears Bigger and Better in '07

Britney Spears tells the world that she is coming back bigger and better in 2007. Spears states on her website,

"The last couple of years have been very enlightening for me and now that I've had the time to be "me," I've been able to sit down and think about where I want to go with myself as an entertainer with absolutely no strings attached. I am now more mature and feel like I am finally free."

Does popping out two kids, getting a divorce from a loser, and showing your pink taco to the media count as being mature? Well either way it gets her media attention which is always needed for crappy singers. Sad news was mentioned on Access Hollywood that one of Britney's biggest fan websites World of Britney was shutting down. If you go to the site I doubt this will happen.

The most important thing to remember is that once all of the media hype has died down and Spears becomes less popular she will finally pose for Playboy or Penthouse so that we can see more than her crotch.

Army Encourages Dead Officers To Return to Active Duty

I guess the new campaign ARMY STRONG is taking a whole new concept. Apparently the Army will make an individual so strong that they will ask you to serve your country again even though you have already been killed in the line of duty.

The U.S. Army asked some 275 officers killed or wounded in action to return to active duty. This is really going to be bad for the Army's PR campaign. If the Army sends out mailings asking former officers to come back to duty and can't tell who has been wounded or killed how are we ever going to be organized enough to win the War on Terrorism?

Rehnquist Runs Around In His Pajamas

It turns out old William Rehnquist was a pill popper. Go figure, another Republican addicted to drugs (hi Rush L.). On Wednesday, the FBI released a 1,500 page documentation of Rehnquist because of a FOIA request. Rehnquist was admitted to a hospital back in 1981 (he was on the Supreme Court at the time) and was taken off painkillers which in return made him hallucinate. Old Willy attempted to escape the hospital in his pajamas because he believed the FBI was plotting against him. Willy was addicted to Placidyl, which he had taken for over ten years. The damn drug made him hear voices as well. I wonder if that changed once treatment was completed?

It also turns out the Rehnquist was a bigot. He owned property in Arizona that could only be sold to white folks. It is great to know that he oversaw the highest court in the land for almost 2 and a half decades. Impartial judgment I assume.

Couch-Potato Contest

Now this is a contest I would love to participate in with the hope of becoming the laziest S.O.B. in the U.S. Jason Pisarik defended his title in this years sports-viewing marathon in Chicago at the ESPN Zone sports bar. Pisarik lasted for 39 hours and 55 mins, beating his previous record from last year which was a mere 32 hours. The prize for such a great achievement was nearly $5,000 worth of junk.

I don't think I could last this long watching sports, though I might be able to do so if it was other crap on the boob tube. Someone should create a similar contest except contestants should be forced to watch QVC or the Home Shopping Network. If anyone can survive watching these stations he/she deserves more than $5,000. Of course they would probably need to be put under suicide watch because no one should have to suffer that much.

The world record of consecutive hours of TV watched was 69 hours and 48 minutes.

Rudolph Giuliani's Campaign Plans Revealed

Giuliani's campaign strategy for the 2008 bid is raising massive amounts of money. Wow! This is definitely a new concept for the Republicans. Who would have thought a party of elephants would want to raise a lot of money and outspend the Democrats. Supposedly a 140 page report laying out the basic foundation of the former New York mayor's bid for the White House was taken from a piece of airline luggage according to Giuliani's spokeswoman Sunny Mindel.

It couldn't have been that great of a plan if its recommendation was to raise $100 million from big Republican donors. Every Republican candidate tries to raise a large amount of money. Even Bush knows how to do this. I hope Giuliani gets better aids who will give him more ideas for his campaign otherwise he doesn't stand a chance. He can't ride on the coattails of 9/11 forever. Of course if his bid for president fails he can always host Saturday Night Live again. Even simpled-minded folks can read Q-cards.

Favre Retires?

Will Brett Favre retire after beating the Bears last night? It is doubtful Favre will ever win another Super Bowl, but he is close to breaking several records if he would play another season. I assume within the next couple days the media will announce to the world Favre's intentions for next year. Brett has had a remarkable career and will go down as one of the most successful quarterbacks of all time. The NFL will surely miss the work ethic, loyalty, and entertainment Favre has brought to the game. Brett has accomplished milestones in his career and he may continue to do so with another season, but if he retires I am sure everyone will respect his decision.

Christopher Walken for President

It is not a new phenomenon having actors running for political office, but Christopher Walken for 2008 is this for real? The answer is yes. I think he is a great actor at least when he is on Saturday Night Live, but to make a run for the White House is another story. However he can't be any worse then the current man sitting in the oval office. However, if Walken thinks he has any chance he better start working on a bigger grass roots campaign. With only having offices in New York, Alabama, Florida, California, Washington, and Colorado he will need a lot more support to make any impression with this election. Oh, and by the way Walken is not affiliated with any party. Is this good or bad? If a billionaire like Perot couldn't get elected is it possible that a semi-famous actor will do any better?

Check out Walken's website.
