It seems that George W. Bush would not be allowed to vote in New Jersey if he ever became a citizen of the state. Currently, the state's constitution says, "no idiot or insane person should enjoy the right of suffrage." Do you think we could put this language in the job requirements for president? I guess it is a little late to act on that thought.
A bill was introduced today to change the term "idiot" to "a person who has been adjudicated by a court of competent jurisdiction to lack the capacity to understand the act of voting." Would Bush be eligible to vote by this definition? My guess is not likely. Oh well there is only 742 days left until Bush is out of the Oval Office. Please let this time go by fast.
